How can I implement simple changes into my daily life to improve the health and wellness of myself and my family?
First and foremost, just move. Stretch. Walk. Repeat. If you are not currently exercising, start small and add to your routine. Plan your workouts. Schedule them in your planner. Always have back-up plan in case something comes up.
Get plenty of rest
In addition to getting a sufficient amount of sleep each night, take a day of rest each week from exercising. This might be a great day to go for a leisurely walk with your family or just take some quiet time for yourself to read or meditate.
Drink adequate amounts of water
Drink at least half of your body weight in ounces of water daily. I.e. if you weigh 180 lb., you would need to drink 90 ounces of water.
Make getting healthy and active a family project
Get your kids involved. Spend time together outside when possible, but have active indoor activities for days when it is just too cold to get outside. Cook meals and create healthy snacks together. Kids love to help, and by modeling healthy behaviors you are setting them up for a lifetime of making healthy choices.
Schedule a chiropractic evaluation
Chiropractic adjustments boost the immune system and increase energy levels. Adjustments to the spine correct structural and biomechanical problems and restore proper function to your body. Your structure determines your function, and adjustments strengthen your body to reduce the risk of injury and maximize performance.
